Superbe Solus et Superior

Coat of Arms of Kristian Harvey Manuel Lumba (Motto: Superbe Solus et Superior)

Latin Motto: Superbe Solus et Superior

English Translation: Proudly Alone and Superior

Japanese Translation: 誇り高く単独で

Hokoritakaku tandoku de (With high pride, alone)

Spanish Translation: Orgullosamente solo (y superior)

Symbols used:

1. The 28-pointed blue star in the field of green.

=It symbolizes envy and discontent. Contentment is death. There is always room for improvement. It also symbolizes role models. The 28 pointed star is the symbol of my age when I learned how to design these coat of arms.

2. The pyramid.

=The pyramid is colossal. It is built upon a solid rock, and that's why it is strong.

3. The yellow lion.

=Represents a change of heart, when remaining enemies become friends.

4. The grey swords.

=Represent victory, hard work and power.

5. The vessendiem

=Represents the symbolic Spring Day.

6. The brown suit of clubs

=Is the suit that is equivalent of the tarot suit of wands. The suit represents sexual prowess. "Clubs" came from the old Norse word, klumba. In the coat of arms, the brown clubs symbol represents the Filipino idea of ginhawa, which may mean relief from pain, or it may mean pleasure.

7. The beige stripes on the sides of the coat of arms

=Represent laughter.

Pronunciation of the motto:
After mantra-like tests, I have elected to use classical Latin as the correct pronunciation.
Ending m is nasal, while the first o in deploro bears the accent. Sc is pronounced sk. Nihil and mihi are pronounced nikil and miki in classical Latin. They are the exceptions.
R, in my case and preference, is not rolled in every place. It is simply like in Spanish. Superbê sôlus et superior!
*****
Supérbê sôlus et supérior
Meaning: Proudly alone and superior. This was copied from the motto of the whole of Portugal back in the days.
1. When ostracized, stronger.
2. If with friends, unique.
3. Not only alone but superior.

Proudly alone
This famous expression was uttered by then President of the Council of Ministers, António de Oliveira Salazar, on February 18, 1965 with regard to the Portuguese offensive in the African colonies, at a time when the rest of the world was embarking on decolonization. This sentence echoed throughout the political system and became the symbol of national courage.
*****
Meam Inscitiam Deploro.
Meaning: "I am saddened by my own incompetence." It means I should not be contented if I still lack knowledge. I should mourn my ignorance. A change is due and that change is study, or pursuit of strength. Contentment is death.
Meam has importance. This means that I am saddened by only MY OWN incompetence. This leaves out others' incompetence.
*****
Other good mottos (but I opted for something original):
1. Nec pluribus impar: "not unequal to many." This might mean equal to many.
2. Orgullosamente solo: "proudly alone."

The Personal Flag:

Personal flag of Kristian Harvey Lumba

The personal flag borrowed the exact shade of green from the Italian flag.
The personal flag means: Sincere kindness is attractive. Also, kindness can bring tears of joy.
When is the flag used? Right Rotation by C. Lombai

Yearbook Message, St. John the Baptist Catholic School of Calumpit, Bulacan, High School Batch 2009: "Genesis" by Kristian Harvey Lumba

There were faces and all of them were unreachable by the other. They were still separated by barriers that were still to be removed. And because of this, the room they were in, although lighted, appeared to be dark and empty. Suddenly, the door opened and there was light. On this light is the silhouette of an astute person. The children stood and greeted him "teacher." The teacher asked the students to introduce themselves and, gradually, there came unity. The strangers became acquaintances and all of them became one class in one section. Their teacher was not alone in his noble mission. There were other teachers. Each imposed different challenges that the young

Christmas Celebration in the Philippines (Calumpit, Bulacan) Mulpitac, Buracan

Christmas Celebration and Decoration in a Small Rural Town Back in December 28, 2014, I wrote an article about Christmas in Calumpit, Bulacan, Philippines. The link to it doesn't work anymore, as it is a very old article and it has no visitors. I wanted to repost it here. The original link is https://hubpages.com/holidays/we-found-christmas-in-calumpit under the pen name Tanara Lee. Children of Calumpit town in the Philippines light candles for Virgin Mary's statue The land of true love is still keeping faithfully the Christian traditions passed down to them by the Spanish priests in the year 1572, when they first docked in the town. One can see the joy in the faces of the people as they sing through masses and hear words of sheer love flowing from the mouth of their parochial priest. And although Christmas may not originally have been a Christian tradition, it was Christianity that introduced it to the people of this town, and they do celebrate it as very zealous Christians,
