My First Caloocan Phone (Poem)

My First Caloocan Phone by Kristian Harvey Lumba Riding the bus, so happy and excited that I Would buy my first phone from Caloocan--but there why? For in San Fernando my sins would force a "Goodbye." Not knowing, them not showing, the Caloocan spy. But by my money I swore I would hold in my hands... (Little by little I saved some small change for my wants...) That in my hands I'll hold a device powerful, grand But my mind control was controlled by some expert hands Gameboy cheats--Left, top, B. Then, I couldn't understand. Cried I tears of blood for my money and for my time! Money, little did I have; but had a lot of time. Time I'd use to think of how to get back. How can I? Drooling, insane... they'll be my slaves, underdogs. And die? Dizzy, I'll stutter out curses. I'll envy their heavy purses! Dizzy, I'll totter towards them. Don't belittle the time I'd spend! Dizzy, I'll stay charming. "Hello!" The hacked ...

Looking Up Clear by C. Lombai (A Poem)

Looking Up Clear by C. Lombai There, is a painting of blues and whites. Set your eyes high, put it in your sight. The warm, blinding sun should shine its light. The cool, soothing breeze blows from this height. Such beauty! A while ago. Again. Birds flying over are not a stain To this wonder, changing with the wind. They pause to look, from work, they rescind. While I float in the river I see, Relaxed, and squinting: "What a beauty!" I find it also in my country, Beauty you'll find right in Italy.

O Creature! (A Poem)

O Creature! by C. Lombai We were bestfriends before the rift, that time you peed. I locked you inside a room, you innocent breed. You never stopped asking for your most basic needs. Had I not cajoled, you'd have run with vicious speed. In the midst of the black night, wails and wails of pain. Deaf with music, if you bang on the door, what gain? Debased by cruelty, your innocence remains? I avert my eyes! Ignorance I cannot feign. O creature, under wrath's behest, what did I do? Effluvium--beside the door I smell it too. The acid sweat, and the incessant cries from you. My heart trembles. Weak. But my eyes are dry for you. An angel from the skies became him who unlocked The door of hell because heaven for you was blocked. Before you fled, you looked back, inhuman figure. Why did the color of your eyes change, O creature? Not a chance you feared me, the way you looked at me; In that window, visible were your two red eyes. Unlike you I'd rather forget like it's all lies. I...

A Memory of Calumpit (A Poem)

A Memory of Mulpitak by Kristian Harvey Lumba I remember the beat of my heart Back then, when we first met at the start Now a memory's all that I got Since you stole it with words that you spat Till now the reason I don't know what. If learning's really what we best do Then I don't need to look to you What you do is so illogical,  Destructive and not beneficial. And your love was just artificial. See, I do not need to be grateful, Have every reason to be hateful. ===== Superbe solus et superior

Right Rotation by C. Lombai (A Poem)

Right Rotation by C. Lombai Scowling, across the bright, moving screen, Involuntary twitch--pleasure green, You should be on top, there you I've seen. Four sides on a square; where have you been? You're smile will change. Right, you're beautiful. Lost goals and desires--dutiful? Can't understand; subs, unhelpful. Flower? Down, roots; up, petals artful. When you rotate, do you distort too? A flash of light and a pose will do. You capture subjects like in a zoo. Nature's upside-down; web, spider's poo. At home on your phone in the background. Vulcan shows you he's always around. Right, I love you, do I stutter proud? If I stutter, I should not be loud. Emoji, too, has one of its own. Top, the sad lips; down, the eyes are shown. On your behest, while I'm on my throne. When I go down, you serve me, I groan. There's no right rotation, now I know. Even when he's in the square, the foe? The natural way is gravity. Easy gestures, words; unhindered, free....

Plants VS Zombies (A Poem)

Plants VS Zombies by Kristian Harvey Lumba Tears have watered this tree That towers over me But when you smile I see A sun that shone brightly Yesterday so truly. Hearts broken secretly, Such numb hearts will love me? Numb hearts treat me kindly. When they bleed, I'm happy. Today my sun I see. Hearts that can't do what they do Are numb like that inside you. Love me again, playful beau; Go borrow Cupid's arrow.
